| Abstract: | The concept of Society 5.0, a super-smart society that integrates technological advancements like Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data with human-centered values, presents both challenges and opportunities for India’s higher education system. As India’s higher education landscape evolves to meet the demands of a rapidly changing society, the principles of Society 5.0—particularly innovation, inclusivity, and technology integration—offer new pathways to enhance the quality of education, research, and employability. This paper explores how India’s higher education can embrace the transformative vision of Society 5.0, examining the opportunities for technological integration, challenges in access and quality, and potential policy reforms that align higher education with the goals of a human-centric, technology-driven society. |
