| Abstract: | This research explores integrating traditional Indonesian Batik into contemporary Indo-Western menswear to bridge traditional craftsmanship with modern fashion and expand Batik's global relevance. It analyses Batik's history, regional variations, and techniques to ensure respectful preservation while examining modern menswear trends and consumer preferences. The core of the project involves developing a menswear collection blending Batik's unique aesthetic with modern silhouettes through careful motif selection and adaptation. The research also investigates the socio-economic impact of promoting Batik globally, aiming to support local artisans and foster cross-cultural appreciation. Ultimately, it seeks to demonstrate Batik's versatility, elevate its global recognition, contribute to its sustained preservation for future generations, and potentially stimulate economic growth by showcasing its beauty and artistry to a wider audience. The study aims to move beyond conventional Batik applications, exploring its adaptability to modern styles tailored for contemporary male consumers. |
