An intelligent a great solution to take on the parking issues faced in urban areas is the Automated Smart Parking Reservation System. As everything is being digitized in this ever growing world, the need for automation is inevitable. This is also true to the traditional parking reservation systems that we have been following. This paper proposes an interesting solution for this parking issue by automating the entire process – from vehicle identification to allocation of parking spaces making it necessary in this modern world. The system consists of multiple software that work in harmony to provide the best user experience. A powerful AI based object detection model, YOLO (You Only Look Once), is used to accurately recognize and crop the vehicle’s number plate from the image. YOLO is very effective in the usage of object detection because of its accuracy and precision. This makes it easier for the EasyOCR extract the text available in the image. If YOLO was not used, the whole picture should be used in the text extraction thereby reducing both the performance and accuracy of the extraction. This extracted text is used to allocate a specific slot for the vehicle and also an indicator is lit up at the designated parking slot making it easier for the user to identify their designated parking spots. This data is handled using MongoDB which is a clous based NoSQL database. This makes the data accessible from anywhere in the world. Moreover, the users can access a particular website which is accessed by using a QR code for easier access. The user can enter their vehicle data and find the slot in which they parked their vehicle. A layout of the parking slots is rendered in this webpage and the specific slot in which the vehicle is parked is marked green. This reduces confusion and increases the productivity of the parking space. The parking space is deallocated when the vehicle leaves the parking lot.
