Background: It is observed that there is a steady rise in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in young adults in this decades. The main cause is either partial or complete obstruction of blood flow in the coronary arteries leading to myocardial ischemia or arrest. The world health organization expert committee on prevention of cardiovascular ailment identified a number of environmental and lifestyle factors as risk factors of this ailment
Method: After ethical approval which was taken from institutional ethical committee the informed written consent were taken in the patient’s language. Both male and female students who were willing to participate in the research study were included in study.
The study was conducted in Koshys P U College, Bangalore. Sixtyfour college students were approached with the proposal of the study,out of which fifty were included and fourteen refused to participate.
Result: There was a greater improvement in the pre test – post test the maximum 40(80%) samples were having Adequate Knowledge level, 7(14.0%) samples were having Moderate Knowledge level, 3(6%) samples were having Inadequate Knowledge level.
Conclusion: It is proposed that the current study may lead a sparkling decrease in the CVD..
