This article explores how sustainable initiatives like eco-marine trails, kayaking, snorkeling, and homestays led by local fisherfolk can create enriching experiences while supporting livelihoods. It also reflects on the impact of developments like the Vizhinjam port and emphasizes the need for a balanced approach that blends tourism growth with environmental protection. Ultimately, it calls for reimagining marine tourism as a tool for inclusive, responsible, and lasting coastal development. |
