Kamarpukur is a village of Goghat-II CD block in the Arambagh subdivision, Hooghly District, West Bengal, India. Kamarpukur is renowned for being the birthplace of Sri Ramakrishna, the great 'Guru' of the Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda. Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math built a temple at the birthplace of Sri Ramakrishna. With this temple, the Gopeshwar Temple, the temple of Sri Raghuveera, the holy Mango Tree, Yogi’s Siva Temple, etc., near the math area always attract religious visitors throughout the year, causing the development of religious tourism in this area. This tourism has become an important catalytic force for the socio-economic development in Kamarpukur.
