Abstract: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) finance continues to evolve as a cornerstone of both academic inquiry and institutional investment in 2025. With global commitments to sustainable development, corporate transparency, and socially responsible investing at an all-time high, researchers and practitioners are increasingly reliant on comprehensive and high-quality data to drive decisions. Academic and research libraries, once peripheral to financial research, now stand at the center of ESG research support ecosystems. This paper examines the multifaceted role of libraries in enabling ESG finance research, including resource provision, training, data literacy programs, and collaborative research initiatives. It evaluates library usage trends, integrates theoretical and empirical frameworks, highlights global benchmarks and case examples, and concludes with policy recommendations for advancing the ESG mission of libraries.
