Abstract: This study examines the interrelation between academic stress, psychological well-being, and perceived social support within the framework of open learning. Given the escalating demands of higher education, it is especially important to understand the influence of academic stress on students' mental health and the role of social support in mitigating its adverse consequences. The emphasis on students in open learning arises from the specific obstacles they face in distance education, which may create unique demands. The primary objective is to comprehend the impact of academic stress on students' psychological well-being and the role of perceived social support in mitigating these effects. A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating survey data with insights derived from interviews. Students from diverse academic levels and backgrounds participated by completing a self-constructed questionnaire that assessed their stress levels, well-being, and support systems. A designated cohort also engaged in interviews to convey their coping strategies and personal narratives. The study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between academic stress, mental health, and support networks in the context of distance education by integrating statistical data and human views. The results are anticipated to inform enhancements in support services and foster improved mental health within higher education settings.
