Abstract: Nyctanthes Arbor-tristis Linn. is a traditional medicinal herb used in India, it belongs to Oleaceae family, having various uses such, as an anthelmintic, anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, anti-viral, anti-cancer, anti-leishmanial, anti-allergic, anti-pyretic, hepatoprotective, anti-histaminic, anti-tryptaminergic, anti-nociceptive, anti-choline esterase, bronchodilatory, pesticidal, anti-spermatogenic, purgative, CNS depressant, hypoglycaemic, hypolipidemic and immunomodulatory agent. The following study is to give comprehensive review on pharmacognostical, pharmacological and scientifically proved activities of Nyctanthes Arbor-tristis.
