Abstract: This study presents an experimental investigation on the mechanical properties of M40 grade concrete with the partial addition of waste copper wire fibers. Conventional concrete exhibits high compressive strength but suffers from low tensile strength and brittle behavior, leading to crack formation and reduced durability. Copper wire fibers were incorporated into the concrete mix in varying proportions of 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, and 2.0% by weight of cement. The performance of concrete was evaluated through workability, compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength tests at 7 and 28 days. The results indicate that the inclusion of copper fibers significantly enhances tensile and flexural strength due to improved crack resistance and ductility, while compressive strength shows moderate improvement. However, workability decreases with increasing fiber content. The optimum fiber content was found to be between 1.0% and 1.5%. The study concludes that waste copper wire fibers can be effectively utilized in concrete to improve performance while promoting sustainable construction practices.
