Abstract: The rapid growth of renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, portable electronic devices, and energy storage applications has significantly increased the demand for efficient battery management systems. Batteries are one of the most critical components in these applications, and their performance directly affects system reliability, efficiency, and operational life. Improper charging, overcharging, excessive discharging, and overheating can reduce battery life and create safety hazards. Therefore, continuous monitoring and intelligent management of battery parameters are essential.This paper presents the design and development of a Smart Battery Management System (BMS) using Arduino Uno and ESP32 microcontrollers. The proposed system continuously monitors battery voltage, current, power consumption, temperature, humidity, battery percentage, and State of Health (SOH). The Arduino Uno collects data from sensors and processes battery parameters in real time. The processed information is displayed on a 20×4 LCD display and simultaneously transmitted to an ESP32 module through serial communication. The ESP32 acts as an IoT gateway and hosts a web server that displays real-time battery information on a wireless dashboard accessible through any browser connected to the same network.The developed system includes safety features such as relay-based charging control, buzzer alarms, LED indications, and battery status notifications. Experimental testing demonstrated reliable monitoring and accurate visualization of battery parameters. The proposed system is low-cost, scalable, easy to implement, and suitable for solar energy systems, electric vehicles, industrial battery banks, UPS systems, and smart energy management application .
