Abstract

The term Disabled is “Dis is Abled” means they are abled to do and achieve anything that shows the positive side of disability. We demonstrate that disability is not a limitation of life, it is a fight against frustration. it is a journey filled with challenges that can be overcome by the strong determation . It is the ability to approach life obstacles with hope strength and belief that every challenge is an opportunity.Being born with or acquiring a disability is not a sin nor it is a reflection of weakness failure or punishment, it is simply a different way of experiencing life. Before going in detail I would like to put light on some well known persons from India who is having positive attitude towards life. SUDHA CHANDRAN: Indian dancer & actress who lost her leg in a road accident using a jaipur foot (prosthetic limb). She is return to the dance and acting with incredible determination after this incident. VINOD KUMAR BANSAL: The founder of Bansal classes in Kota did indeed have a locomotor disability due to muscular dystrophy which resulted in paralysis & reliance on a wheelchair. He became a legendary educator founding & growing one of India’s most influential coaching hub, all while managing severe physical limitation. ARUNIMA SINHA:Former national level volleyball player from India. She met with a tragic accident cost one of her legs she was left with severe injuries but instead of giving in to despite she chosen to fight back. Today we will discuss about their styling and their apparel in details: As we focus on locomotor disabilities and amputation which may involve the loss of limbs or other body parts due to accidents, trauma, disease, medical conditions, surgery,or other incidents. We recognized the importance of clothing designed specifically for these individuals. Adaptive clothing is already available in the market. It is specially designed to make dressing easier for people with physical disabilities or limited mobility. These garments are tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals who may face difficulties wearing conventional clothing due to age illness or injury. However, now question arise what can we do innovative in that ? How can we make adaptive clothing more comfortable functional and stylish? Why should only able bodied people have access to fashionable clothing? Why are bold colors ,trendy prints and expressive styles mostly limites to them? We believe its time for change by adopting modular fashion and introducing deatachable and customizable designs, we can include features and create adaptive clothing that is not only easy to wear but also bold, expressive and fashion forward. This new approach empowers individuals with disabilities to embrace their style and feel confident in what they wear because fashion should be inclusive for all. Many of the brands like Tommy Hilfiger Adaptive, Target Adaptive, Nike, FlyEase, Lululemon, ASOS, Victoria Secret, I 2 Adaptive, Unhidden, Aille Design, No Limbits, Auf Augenhome, Care Wear, Slick Chicks are some of the most renowned names are in Adaptive garment segment. Some of the popular Adaptive solutions in India are Haxor, Zyenika, Aaraam Se and many more. Other brands incorporating Adaptive Designs are Old Navy ,ABL Denim,Boden etc.
