Road infrastructure in India is developing at very fast pace. A good pavement is needed for the safe, comfortable and economical movement of traffic. If the local available soil has no adequate strength, either soil from other site is to be used or the available soil has to be stabilized. Soil can be stabilized with RBI grade 81 and marble dust, then can be used in sub grade and also as sub base and base layers. This will help to cut down the construction cost by selecting local available materials. In this review, the balancing out impact of RBI grade 81 and marble dust on silty soil properties like Atterberg limits (liquid limit, plastic limit, shrinkage limit) and differential free swell index (DFS Index) has been contemplated. Keeping this in view an exploratory review is led on locally accessible for example silty soil blended in with changing proportion of RBI grade 81 and marble dust. The exploratory work has been done to examine the improvement in geotechnical properties of soil blended in with RBI grade 81 and marble dust at different % of rates. The soil was blended in with RBI grade 81 at 2%, 4%, 6% & same dosses of marble dust. The results of the tests showed that there are significant effects in enhancing the properties of silty soil. Also, the results showed that with increasing percentage of the RBI grade 81 & marble dust plasticity index and swelling potential of the silty soil decreases. For 6% addition of RBI grade 81 and marble dust, plasticity index decrement is 71.99% & 45.67% respectively whereas, decrement of DFS index is 49.91% & 85.58% respectively.
