Water bodies are important parts of the ecosystem and need to be conserved and maintained. It is essential for all forms of life and composes 50-97% of plant and animal weight and about 70% of the human body. Sustainable, social, and economic development depends on water as a fundamental force. Water quality analysis thus becomes a basic requirement for safety purposes and determines the health of our environment. This research paper focuses on comparing the water quality of different water bodies, i.e., lakes and rivers. Water samples from Powai Lake and Ulhas River were analyzed for temperature, pH, Conductivity, and DO. The results observed suggested more pollution in Lake water as compared to the River water. Reason being the difference in the mobility of the two water bodies along with other surrounding factors. A further assay is required for more accurate and conclusive results.
