| Abstract: | Disasters see no boundaries in terms of geography and also impact. Community has always been the worst impacted and first to respond. Although many interventions have been made to strengthen community response, yet very less has been thought about making the community aware about the risks they are exposed to. It has always been external help that is pressed into service, which at times leads to a greater number of causalities and larger impact. Community, which is impacted, entirely depends on the external help and has never been oriented towards their self-help and capacity enhancement.
