Abstract: | The efficiency of managing the proper plasma drug concentration in instant releasein conventional dose forms is lacking. Therefore, thebilayer tablet drug delivery method is beneficial, which is based on the principle of delivering the medication quickly to provide a rapid therapeutic effect and sustain it for an extended amount of time by releasing the drug in a controlled manner. Bilayer tablet technology is one of the techniques that include both an instant and a prolonged release layer. Bi-layer tablets can be a good way to avoid chemical incompatibilities across APIs and produce distinct medication release profiles by physically separating them. Bi-layer tablets can be monolithic, partially coated, or multilayered matrices and are used in a variety of applications. It has wide applications as an anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, analgesic, and antidepressant medication. |
