Objective: The primary reasons of fall risk in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) are
impaired balance and difficulty performing dual tasks. The study's goal was to
ascertain how a rehabilitation programme made up of step square exercises (SSE)
and Nintendo Wii board activities affected MS patients' risk of falling. Techniques:
Thirty-four MS patients were split into two equal groups at random: the study group
got six weeks of Nintendo Wii board exercises, SSE, and the chosen exercise
programme, while the control group just got the chosen exercise programme. Using
the Timed Up and Go test and Berg balance scale, all patients were evaluated both
before and after their rehabilitation programme.
Results: After therapy, there were notable differences between the groups in terms
of falls risk scores (p < 0.05). Compared to the control group, the study group's
balance and overall TUG and BBS scores increased significantly. Conclusions: The
use of SSE in conjunction with Nintendo Wii board exercises significantly decreased
fall risk and improved balance in MS patients; as a result, this treatment programme
ought to be taken into account for MS physical rehabilitation.
