This study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of an insect repellent cream using lemon grass oil, a natural alternative to synthetic repellents. The cream was prepared by incorporating lemon grass oil, known for its potent insect-repelling properties, into a suitable base formulation. Various concentrations of lemon grass oil were tested to determine the optimal dose for maximum efficacy and skin compatibility. The physical characteristics of the cream, such as texture, spreadability, and stability, were evaluated. Insect repellent activity was assessed through laboratory tests using common insect species, with results compared to commercially available repellents. The cream’s dermatological safety was also evaluated through patch testing on human skin. The results demonstrated that the formulated insect repellent cream provided effective protection against insects while being safe and gentle on the skin. This formulation offers a promising natural alternative to chemical-based insect repellents.
